Refund Policy
This Refund Policy explains when you can request a refund for subscriptions, credits, or other paid features in ChatSQT (“we”, “us”, “our”).
1) Key definitions
- “Subscription” means a recurring plan (e.g., Pro/Max) billed monthly or annually.
- “Billing period” means the time between subscription payments.
- “Credits” means prepaid usage units (if offered) that may be consumed for AI features.
- “Digital services” means access to the app and its features.
2) General rule (digital services)
Because ChatSQT provides immediate access to digital services after purchase, refunds are limited and evaluated case-by-case, unless required by law.
3) Subscription refunds
3.1 Free trial conversions
If you start a free trial that converts to a paid subscription and you did not intend to continue, contact us as soon as possible. We may issue a refund or credit at our discretion depending on usage and timing.
3.2 Monthly subscriptions
For monthly subscriptions, we generally do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period unless cancelled earlier by you.
3.3 Annual subscriptions
For annual subscriptions, refunds are not guaranteed and are evaluated case-by-case. If a refund is approved, we may deduct the value of the period already used and/or any promotional discounts, where legally allowed.
3.4 Charges made through an app store
If you purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play, refunds must be requested through that store’s refund process. We can help with guidance, but we cannot directly issue refunds processed by the store.
4) Credits / pay-as-you-go (if available)
If we offer credits:
- Unused credits are generally non-refundable because they are a digital good and may be allocated immediately for service capacity.
- If a technical issue prevented you from using credits you purchased, contact support and we will investigate and may restore credits or issue a refund/credit where appropriate.
5) When we may approve a refund
We may approve a full or partial refund, where legally allowed, for reasons such as:
- Duplicate billing (same charge more than once for the same period)
- Unauthorized transaction (subject to verification)
- Major service outage or defect that prevented reasonable use of paid features
- Billing error caused by our system
6) When we will not approve a refund (typical examples)
Refund requests are commonly denied when:
- You forgot to cancel before renewal
- You changed your mind after using paid features
- Your account was restricted due to policy violations
- Your device/network issues prevented access (unless caused by our service)
- Your request is outside the timeframe described below, unless required by law
7) Refund request timeframe
To be considered, contact us within:
- 7 days of the charge date for monthly subscriptions, and
- 14 days of the charge date for annual subscriptions,
unless your local consumer protection laws provide a longer period.
8) How to request a refund
Email us at [email protected] with:
- Your account email/phone used for login
- The charge date and amount
- The payment method/provider (e.g., card, Paystack, App Store, Google Play)
- A short explanation of the issue
- Any screenshots/receipts (if available)
We may request additional verification to protect you from fraud.
9) Refund method and processing time
If approved:
- Refunds are returned to the original payment method when possible.
- Some payment providers may take several business days to reflect the refund.
- We may alternatively issue account credits if that is faster or if your payment provider cannot accept a refund, where legally allowed.
10) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above indicates when this policy last changed. Continued use of paid services after changes means you accept the updated policy, to the extent permitted by law.
